Can I download files free of charge?

Yes you can. You can easily download files for free with either the Free or Premium Easy-share.com accounts. The Premium membership provides fast and unlimited downloads.

What is the download limit for Free membership?

You can download 200 MB/hour.

How to delete one of my files?

When you upload a file, you also receive a URL that can be used to delete that file. When you want to delete the file, just copy/paste this URL into your browser’s address bar.

Can I resume a failed download?

Resuming a failed download is not an option for non-Premium users. If the download fails you will have to restart it.

What is the password for the file I have just downloaded?

We don't keep password information for files that were uploaded by our users for you to download. If necessary, we suggest that you try to contact the owner of the file directly.

What do links to files look like?

Typical URLs that are recognized as file URLs include:

Uploading

Can I upload any type of file?

No. Easy-share.com serves people of all ages and cultures from all over the World. We do not want to offend anyone in any way. We make every effort to ensure that the shared content does not violate any law and is completely inoffensive.

How long does my file stay active for?

If you are operating a Free account we will delete files that have not been downloaded for the last 90 days. There is a maximum available storage capacity of 20 GB.
If you are operating a Premium account, files will not be deleted, even if they have not been downloaded for the last 90 days. There is a maximum available storage capacity of 200 GB.
For either account, you can pay 5 ePoints per day for each GB over the account limit or you can just leave it to Easy-share to automatically delete the extra files. Files are deleted according to the length of time from their last download – files with the longest time being deleted first.

Can I resume a broken upload?

Yes, if you are uploading via ftp or EasyUploader.

Do I have any access to, or control over, my uploaded files?

When you upload a file without being an account holder, you will receive only download and delete links. If you do have an account, you can view download statistics, rename or organize your files into folders or set your file properties.

Is it complicated to upload files to Easy-share?

Not at all. You can upload your files directly by using our website, or you can use any ftp program. You can upload the file from your own computer or from a remote server (remote upload).

Can I upload files from other file hosters, like Rapidshare or Megaupload?

Yes, you can. You will need a Premium account from the respective file hoster and possibly a tool to receive direct link to that file too. To upload from Rapidshare or Megaupload use the following URL format:

I have lost my file download link. Where can I get it again?

If your file was uploaded to your account, log in and go to My Files > Manage Files. All your files are listed on that page. You can get download and delete links of your files from there.
I uploaded files via EasyUploader software but can't see the files in my account.
You probably forgot to add login/password details for your account to the settings of EasyUploader. Detailed instructions on how to use the program can be found here.
I uploaded files via ftp but can't see them in my account.
You probably need to “Commit upload” after you have finished uploading your files. Log in to your account, go to My Files > Upload Files > Ftp upload and click the “Commit upload” button. Your files will appear in File Manager shortly.

How do I upload via ftp?

Set your ftp client as follows:

Please note that only 5 simultaneous connections are allowed. If you connect or disconnect rapidly, you may receive an error message.
Easy-share recommends the use of CuteFTP software for file transfer.

What are the storage limits?

Free accounts have the following limits:

How do I retrieve a forgotten password?

Click Login link on www.easy-share.com, followed by “Forgot your password?” on the popup. Then enter you account e-mail address. You will receive e-mail instructions on how to reset the password.

Can I change my login name?

No, sorry you can't change it.

Can I close the account?

Yes, you can. Log in and go to My account > Misc, and follow the instructions on that page.

Why should I switch my account to extended mode?

When you first create an account, it is automatically set to a simple mode with limited options. You can manage files, earn ePoints, buy Premium accounts and earn cash by changing to extended mode. To do this, go to My account > Misc, and then follow the instructions on that page.

How do I create a folder?

You can do this after uploading a file via a browser or on a file management page.

How do I password protect a file?

Currently you can't password protect a single file. However, you can create a password protected folder and move the file into that folder.

Premium membership

What does Premium membership give me?: Premium membership allows you to download multiple files simultaneously at greatly increased speeds when compared to Free membership. You won’t need to wait for download timers nor enter a visual verification code prior to file download.
How does it work?: After a purchase you will receive login and password details. First, you need to login to enable your account. Then, if you want to download a particular file, just identify the required file and your download will start automatically.
How can I pay for Premium membership?: You can pay with PayPal, credit cards or ePoints. You can also pay via our official resellers in your own country.
I purchased Premium membership but still see a web page with timers. Why is this?: Please log in again using your login/password. If this doesn’t resolve the problem, click here to go to a page which will automatically delete Easy-share cookies. Next login to Easy-share again and the problem should be resolved.
How do I increase my download speed?: With Premium membership you can use download manager, which increases download speed by downloading different parts of a file in parallel. In this way, maximum download speed can easily reach your maximum connection speed.
How do I use the download manager with Easy-share?: Add the file URL to the download manager and check the User name and password are required checkbox. Enter your login/password and click OK. Without the correct login/password and active Premium membership, you'll just download the html page instead of the file itself.
Do you have search facilities for files?: No, Easy-share doesn't provide a search engine for its files. You can perform a search in Google using this query - "site:easy-share.com firefox" if you are looking for anything related to "firefox". To search for music use the following query "+inurl:wma|mp3|off site:easy-share.com", for archives "+inurl:exe|rar|zip site:easy-share.com"
How can I get a Premium membership for free?: If you earn 15,000 ePoints within 30 days, you'll automatically get a free 30 day Premium membership. Each month Premium membership can be extended. The second way to become a Premium member without paying is to gain Easy-share.com ePoints, which you can use to pay for Premium membership.

How can I earn money with Easy-share?

There are two main programs in Easy-share. Both of them require you to upload files and promote them across the Internet. You can only participate in one program at a same time. The two programs are:

What are ePoints? How can I earn and redeem them?

ePoints are an internal currency that you earn with Easy-share. 1000 ePoints equal $1 (one US dollar). Revenue share and Pay per download programs handle payouts differently. Read about payouts below in these FAQs.

Pay per download program

How does this program work?

First, you upload your files to Easy-share. Then, whenever someone downloads your file(s) you gain ePoints, which can be converted to real cash.

Does it matter who downloads my files from Easy-share.com?

Yes. The number of ePoints you'll gain each time someone downloads your file depends on the location of the downloader.

How many ePoints can I earn?

You get 0.1, 1 or 2 ePoints from each download depending on the downloader’s country of location (see details). There are several ways to spend ePoints - you can buy Premium accounts (including bulk purchase with discounts of 30% or more) or convert ePoints to real money by requesting payment (see payment request rules).

We pay 2000 ePoints for 1000 downloads from the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, France, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Singapore, Slovenia, Spain, Portugal, Qatar, United Arab Emirates and USA
We pay 1000 ePoints for 1000 downloads from the following countries: Bahrain, Brazil, Brunei, Croatia, Czech Republic, India, Israel, Kuwait, Malaysia, Maldives, Mexico, Turkey, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, South Africa and Ukraine
For all other countries, we pay 100 ePoints per 1000 downloads.

We count every file downloaded (not opened) from any country by unique visitors. Files downloaded by Premium membership owners are not calculated.

How do I convert ePoints into real money?

There are two requirements for money withdrawal:

You need Premium membership valid for at least for 1 month
The quality of your traffic must be higher than 50 out of 100 (read about traffic quality)

Payments are made once a month. You have to request money to be paid.
There are four payment options:

Payment options - minimum amount / commission
PayPal - $10 / $0,
ePassporte - $10 / $0,
WebMoney - $10 / $0,
Wire transfer - $500 / $50.

Payment requests made before the 15th day of the month will be paid by the end of the month. Otherwise the payment will be made at the end of the following month. For example, if you make your request on March 13, you will receive your money on March 27 or 28. If you make it on March 17, you'll receive your money on April 27-28.

What is meant by traffic quality?

The main sources of our site's revenue are advertising and Premium account sales. Sometimes downloaders of your files will also purchase Premium accounts. We keep track of such purchases and calculate your "quality of traffic" accordingly. If you participate in advertising of Easy-share.com or sell Premium membership via discount coupons - it increases your traffic quality. We score your traffic quality on a 100 point scale. When your score is below 50, this traffic is below our standards and you are not allowed to make a payment request. Nevertheless, you still can purchase Premium accounts using your ePoints.

How do I increase traffic quality?

Here are three suggestions:

Try posting your files on forums and blogs with visitors from other countries
Inform your downloaders that it's illegal to use automatic download software
Participate in advertising of Easy-share.com or sell Premium membership via discount coupons

Revenue share program

How much will I earn with Revenue share?

Since we don't pay out ePoints for the number of downloads, it's difficult to predict what each individual uploader will earn through Revenue share. In the event that none of your downloads convert to Premium accounts, you may earn nothing at all. On the other hand, you may earn $20-$30 from every 1000 downloads.

Are there any available statistics from other Revenue share users?

Certainly. Many users have already converted their accounts over to this new system. You can earn $20 - $30 per 1,000 downloads, or possibly even more.

Good uploaders who already participate, can easily earn $20 - $30 commission per 1000 downloads.
Uploaders who are active on good file sharing boards (US, EU, UK, etc.) generate on average about $70 in Premium account sales per 1000 downloads. After factoring in the 35% base rate, uploaders’ commission ranges from $24.50 - $35, depending on bonuses.

What are the terms of the payouts?

We operate the Revenue share payout system a little differently from our Pay per download accounts, and offer some improvements as well as more versatility:

We pay weekly (as opposed to monthly) with no need to pre-order or ask for a payout.
Payments are made automatically each week (on Mondays) from the previous week's earnings.
We still pay by Paypal, ePassporte, WebMoney & bank wire (wire transfer).
We offer low minimum payout amounts on most payment methods (PayPal - $10; ePassporte - $10; WebMoney - $10; Bank - $500).

Why are my Revenue share earnings still displayed as ePoints?

Our ePoints system still exists as our internal currency, and ePoints can be used to purchase Premium accounts or sell Premium membership via discount coupons. Of course, ePoints can be traded in for hard cash, just as before.

Can I still earn ePoints through site referrals (ads) through my links to you?

Of course! Using Revenue share, the only thing that has changed in your Reports area is that the number of downloads is not counted towards earning ePoints. Site ads still generate 20% of earnings for referred users, as usual. And you won't need to change the affiliate link on your sites, either.

Will I need to switch over my Discount coupons, Site Ad URLs or Upload Widget?

Not at all! We've made the crossover to Revenue share as easy as possible. All file URLs, widgets & discount coupons will remain identical.

Why is my "Traffic Quality" number (xx/100) not displayed in my profile?

We've removed the 50/100 minimum traffic quality requirement on payouts for Revenue share members. By simplifying the payout system, as well as offering automated weekly payouts, we feel that good members will be encouraged to become even better!

Why are my "number of downloads" still displayed, if you don't pay ePoints for them?

Two reasons:

So that you can still accurately track your daily progress and reports;
So that we can factor them into your Quality Bonus for payouts.

Will I lose my existing active files when switching over?

Absolutely not! The migration to Revenue share will not affect your account or other settings, and your files will remain active. We simply change the method in which you now earn future ePoints. However, we cancel your money request and move ePoints back to your account.

Can I convert my Revenue share account back to the old payout system?

No. Once you switch your account over to "revenue share" you cannot switch back to "Pay per download", since you cannot participate in both programs simultaneously. However, you can close your Revenue share account and open up a new one under the old system.
I switched to the Revenue share program and have seen zeros in my earnings for several days.
That's normal, especially if you have a low number of downloads. For example, if in the Pay per download program you earned 1000 ePoints every day, you'll see 1 or 2 sales a week. Average sale will bring you about 3,000-7,000 ePoints. If you have high quality traffic (most of your downloaders are from US, UK and Western Europe and file sizes are over 100 MB) and 1000 downloads per day, you'll probably see 1-2 sales per day.

Discount coupons

How does this program work?: We issue you a discount coupon that allows anyone to buy Premium membership with 10% or 20% discount. You can advertise it across forums and blogs. When someone uses this coupon and purchases Premium membership, you get 35% of the sale amount. For example, if someone clicks on your 10% discount link and purchases a year-long Premium account, you receive (58,950-10%)*35%=18,569 ePoints, that's $18.56.
